What is a “Chronotype”?

Every human has a biologically
hard-coded time of day for
natural peak productivity.

There are 3 such “Chronotypes”.
Larks, Owls, Third Birds.

Knowing your type, you can
optimize your schedule and
work 4x faster than usual.

How do you Determine
Your Chronotype?

  1. Think back to a period with no obligations, like a vacation.

  2. Note your natural sleep and wake times.

  3. Calculate the midpoint of your sleep period.

  • Lark: Midpoint before 3:30 AM

  • Owl: Midpoint after 5:30 AM

  • Third Bird: Midpoint between 3:30 AM and 5:30 AM

How Do You
Maximize Productivity
Based on Your Chronotype?

For Larks:

  • Wake up naturally between 5:00-7:00 AM

  • 4x Peak productivity: 4:00-9:00 AM

  • Low energy: 11:00 AM (ideal for workouts)

  • Small focus tasks: 1:00 PM

  • Declining focus: 2:00 PM onward

  • End work: 2:00-4:00 PM

  • Bedtime: Around 9:00 PM

For Owls:

  • Wake up naturally around 9:00-11:00 AM

  • Morning workouts and meetings

  • 4x Peak productivity: 4:00-8:00 PM

  • End work: 8:00-10:00 PM

  • Bedtime: Around 2:00 AM

For Third Birds:

  • Wake up naturally between 7:00-9:00 AM

  • 4x Peak productivity: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM (noon)

  • Low energy: 12:00-3:00 PM (ideal for meetings, workouts, naps)

  • End work: 3:00-5:00 PM

  • Bedtime: Around 11:00 PM
